South Korea's SK Telecom is conducting internal testing of business-to-consumer (B2C) shopping site Qianxun.com, a wholly owned SK Telecom company based in Beijing, and expects to release the site in mid-April, reports 21st Century Business Herald quoting Qianxun.com CEO Guo Hongchi. Guo hopes the site can see sales volume of RMB 100 million this year. Qianxun.com will break even once sales are around RMB 600-800 million, said Guo. Sohu reported in February that SK Telecom planned to invest a total of RMB 500 million in Qianxun.com.
According to a SK Telecom employee, SK Telecom-invested Cyworld.com.cn, the Chinese version of Korean community website Cyworld, has recorded 8 million members. Cyworld.com.cn had more than 7 million registered users by July 2008.
