Taiwan-based Inventec will strength its mobile communication and software service product lines in 2009, believing that the two areas will become the company's growth driver apart from its current server and notebook businesses, according to company CEO Richard Lee.

Lee said the mobile communcation line will be positioned somewhere between handsets and notebooks. But since the company's development for the two new areas is still at an early stage, it will take some time before substantial results can be seen, Lee noted.

Lee also pointed out that Inventec's notebook shipments in 2009 will grow 15-20% compared to 15 million units in 2008, while its server shipments will stay flat.
