It was reported that 5 enterpirse of 7 artemisinin enterprises in Chongqing had stopped produciton or produced other products. These enterprises began to enter artemisinin industry in 2006 when artemisinin industry was booming. But from 2007, the supply exceeding demand began appear and the price dropped sharply. The lowest price of artemisinin was 1300￥/kg in 2008.

Chongqing Municipal Economic Commission had finished relevant investigation and planned to help these enterprise, for example, constructing export channels.
