Vice Minister E Jingping met his counterpart from Bangladesh

On November 20th, 2008, Vice Minister, Mr. E Jingping, met with Vice Minister of Water Resources of Bangladesh, Dr. Mohammad Ayub Miah, in Beijing.
 
During the meeting, Vice Minister E introduced major missions and achievements of China in the field of water resources, especially in flood control and disaster relief, to the Bengali delegation, and both sides exchanged views to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the aspects of water resources management, flood control, disaster relief, transnational rivers, etc.
 
Dr. Miah expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Water Resources for providing hydrological data of Yaluzangbu River in flood season, which played a crucial role in flood control and disaster relief of Brahmaputra River.
 
The “Implementation Plan between the Bureau of Hydrology and Water Resources of Tibet Autonomous Region of People’s Republic of China and the Joint Rivers Commission of Ministry of Water Resources, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh on Provision of Hydrological Information of the Yaluzangbu / Brahmaputra River in Flood Season by China to Bangladesh” was signed.
 
Mr. Munshi Faiz Ahmad, Ambassador of Bangladesh to China, and other related officials from Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, Bureau of Hydrology, International Economic & Technical Cooperation and Exchange Center, and China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research attended the meeting.
